As custom woodworkers, we can design or build almost anything you want for your home or office. Defining, elaborating, and implementing such a project, be it a kitchen or a special piece of furniture, is a process that involves several steps.  Typically, these may include any or all of the following:

An Initial Studio Visit (by appointment, no charge)

            An on-site visit (1 hour - $150)

            Design

            Cabinetry contract

            Production and Installation

Initial Studio Visit

Purpose

  To get acquainted

To determine the scope and requirements of your project

To give you an idea of our ability to bring it to reality

To arrive at a basis for what it might cost

Preparation

Bring as much information as you can that will help us to get a

precise picture of what you envision such as:

Images from magazines, catalogues, photos, and the internet

showing styles and details you like or dislike

Plans from your architect or designer and/or

Rough measurements of the spaces(s) in question and your

                  initial floor plan ideas

   Appliance desires or selections

We will review this information together with you, discuss

possibilities, and answer your questions. If this process results in

a  workable concept, we will provide one initial estimate at no charge.

This usually takes five to ten working days. If an on-site visit is

required to reach this point, there will be a charge of $150. This will

be applied to the final cost of the project.

If you are starting from scratch, or you want to significantly change existing conditions, or you want to go beyond what is included in your existing plans, you may wish to retain our specific expertise for additional design. Design services are independent of cabinet fabrication and are billed at an hourly rate. A retainer of $1000 is required, which will be applied to the final design contract price.

The design process involves the preparation of several alternatives, followed by the elaboration of one of these or a mixture of several. Because we are offering custom built cabinetry, there is no limit to the styles and possibilities that can be explored. We are especially attuned to period details.

Once the final design has been approved, we will prepare a detailed proposal. If a contract to provide the cabinetry is concluded, the design costs will be applied to the final price. Or the plans may be purchased for the total cost of the design less the retainer.

Production lead times are typically eight to twelve weeks. A special site inspection will be scheduled prior to installation to ensure that all services are properly located and that there are no obstacles to the execution of the plan. Installation may take two to six weeks depending on the complexity of the project and the coordination of other trades.
